In 1909, Texaco introduced its "No.4 Motor Gasoline," demonstrating an early understanding of the automobile's importance to the oil industry; in 1921, Texaco introduced what might be the world's first commercial oil can, the Easy Pour two quart container; and, in 1955, Texaco offered the first "all-temperature" motor oil: "Advanced Custom Made Havoline."
Another name noted for innovation is Chevrolet. In 1930, the company acquired one of the world's largest truck body manufacturers and was offering a full line of various light-duty trucks. In 1941, Chevrolet introduced its Model AK pickup. The uniquely designed AK models had front ends with a double-grille - the upper grille had horizontal bars and the bottom grille had vertical bars that ran across the front fender-mounted headlights and swept-back parking lights. These stylish touches made the Model AK a favourite among collectors.
Now, two names in innovation come together in a dramatic die-cast replica. Hauling a load of Havoline cases in its bed, a classic 1941 Chevy Model AK pickup truck is decorated with the authentic Texaco graphics of the "Flying Tee Airpark." Precision-engineered and crafted with extraordinary attention to exacting detail, your Texaco 1941 Chevy Truck is part of The Matchbox Collectibles Texaco Collection: Vintage Delivery Trucks Edition. It is produced by - and available only from - Matchbox Collectibles.
